Alexandra Park, Portsmouth, was opened in 1907 and was a place of recreation for the people of Portsea Island. It provided lawns, flowers beds, paths and seats; it was an area to escape the toils of inner city life in the early twentieth century. The park was named after Queen Alexandra. At the time of the parks opening the site was already home to a bicycle track.

Royal Marines Museum was a museum in Portsmouth, England, located in Eastney from 1958 to 2017, dedicated to the history of the Royal Marines from their beginnings in 1664 to the present day. In 2011 it formally became part of the National Museum of the Royal Navy, an executive non-departmental public body of the Ministry of Defence. The museum's galleries, formerly housed at Eastney Barracks, have been closed since 2017 pending relocation to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
